McMaster University’s PhD in Health Policy is a dynamic interdisciplinary program focused on training future health leaders for careers in academia, government and non-governmental organizations in Canada and around the world. Established in 2008, the Health Policy PhD program was founded on McMaster’s well-established strength in health policy research and education, led by groups such as the Centre for Health Economics and Policy Analysis (CHEPA) and the McMaster Health Forum. Students in the program acquire the knowledge and skills to become leaders in their chosen field through an innovative, interdisciplinary curriculum delivered by a dedicated and internationally recognized program faculty. Faculty supervisors in the Health Policy PhD Program hold appointments in departments and programs across the University, including Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact, Economics, Health, Aging & Society, History, Indigenous Studies, Oncology, Philosophy, Political Science, Science,and Psychiatry & Behavioural Neurosciences. The Health Policy PhD program consists of a core group of more than 30 faculty members, 55 alumni and 29 current students.
